Julie Mee Schmidt Architecture and Design began in 2017 with a small studio project in Tribeca.  What was initially expected to be a one time project evolved into a full service architecture practice.  Since that first project in Tribeca, the firm's work has ranged from a full buildout of a coffee shop in Brooklyn to bathroom renovations in New England.

At Julie Mee Schmidt A+D, we create architecture that focuses on a cohesive blend of scale, material, and function. While our style is adaptable based on our clients’ preferences, at its core is hygge, the Danish principle of coziness. Julie is known for her focus on understanding a clients’ style and objectives and incorporating their personality into the projects.

Prior to founding Julie Mee Schmidt A+D, Julie had over 5 years experience at Bromley Caldari Architects.  Under the mentorship of founding partners R Scott Bromley (famous for being the Architect of Studio 54) and Jerry Caldari, she worked on a range of projects from high-end single residence apartments and beach houses on Fire Island Pines to small commercial and multi-unit residential building renovations.  At Bromley Caldari Architects, Julie also specialized in real estate matters including tax lot floor plans and various filing processes.

Julie holds a Masters of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and received a Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College in Visual Art and Environmental Studies.  During her time at Bowdoin, Julie studied architecture in Copenhagen which had a significant influence on the way she approaches design.

Julie is a registered architect in the state of New York, but has also completed work throughout New England.
